Ministry can happen anywhere, even in the rain! That’s what our student choir and orchestra found out while singing a concert at a block party in Memphis, Tennessee. Just as they were about to start singing “Open Up the Heavens”, the drops started coming down.
Instead of running for cover and shutting down the block party, the choir kept singing and the people stayed to listen! One of our 7th graders, Deborah Burroughs said,”Even with the rain, God influenced us to keep going and show the people that we really love God and them.”
While on Tour, students serve in multiple ways. They ran neighborhood Bible Clubs for kids, worked in a homeless shelter, worked in a thrift shop that supports missions in China, and even harvested vegetables to go to those in need. They also led worship at FBC Oxford and historic Bellevue Baptist in Memphis.
