What are ministry teams?

Ministry Teams exist to assist with the ministry needs of the church. These teams are made up of volunteers who have a passion for a specific area of ministry. If you are looking for a way to step in and help with the ministries of our church one or more of these teams is just the place for you.

The Baptism team is responsible for implementing the details of baptisms that are done on Sunday mornings in Worship East as well as in the Worship Center. This team is in attendance on Sunday morning to assist both those being baptized as well as the pastor doing the baptism.

Caleb Ministry

The Caleb Ministry exists to minister to our members who are no longer able to attend and participate in the life of our church in person. First Baptist Richardson is committed to keeping them connected to the church they love. Caleb Ministry volunteers love, care, and encourage our homebound members through monthly visits, cards and phone calls.


The Discipleship Ministry Team is committed to guiding and equipping individuals on their journey to becoming followers of Jesus Christ. Along our discipleship pathway, we employ worship, community groups, small discipleship groups, and opportunities to serve and share by applying our faith in our daily lives. Our mission is to create a culture of engaging each other toward continuous spiritual development, equipping and empowering each other to follow Jesus, be changed by Jesus, and be committed to join daily in the mission of Jesus to all move toward becoming disciple makers.


Our Fellowship Ministry Team would assist with planning and implementation of a variety of events for our church family. This group can help with brainstorming, coordinating the details, recruiting volunteers, decorating and hosting as the need arises. 


Our Greeter Team is the usually the first contact that guests will have when they come to our church. We want that to be friendly, welcoming and helpful. This team greets on Sunday mornings and often at special events.

Kids Ministry

This team is made of up volunteers that are passionate about our Kid’s Ministry. The team assists our Kid’s pastor in partnering with parents and families, equipping them in family discipleship and growing kids to love God, love others, and follow God every day.

Lord's Supper 

Taking the Lord’s Supper is a significant part of worship. We need people to help in the preparation, serving the elements in service, and/or cleanup of afterwards.

Median Adults

This team helps to coordinate opportunities for worship, Bible study, discipleship, fellowship and outreach for our Median Adults as they grow closer to each other and Christ.

Men's Ministry

The Men’s Ministry Team is comprised of men who want to assist in leading other men to forge deeper relationships with each other and servant leadership in the church, community and in their home. Team assists in helping plan men’s events both on and off campus for all ages.

New Members

This group leads our new members and guests to explore the core beliefs and mission of our church family. They will learn about opportunities to grow spiritually, use your gifts in service, and build lasting relationships within our supportive community while deepening their faith and connecting with others.

Prayer Ministry

The mission is to equip, enable and encourage our church to pray. Our purpose is to develop a strategy that will elevate Christ and cultivate a thriving prayer ministry in our church. The team will plan and conduct different opportunities to pray in support of the vision of the church.


The Parking Lot Ministry Team ensures a welcoming and safe environment for all who enter our church grounds. We provide friendly assistance with parking, offer guidance to visitors, and serve as the first point of contact, showing Christ's love from the moment people arrive on our campus. Our mission is to create a positive first impression that sets the tone for a meaningful worship experience and encourages guests to feel at home.


Safety Team members are those who are willing to serve not only on Sunday morning but at other times as well to provide the safest possible experience for those on our campus. Training will be provided by an outside safety professional to assure that members of this team know how to serve as the “eyes and ears” for church events.

Senior Adults

This team helps to coordinate opportunities for worship, Bible study, discipleship, fellowship and outreach for our Senior Adults as they grow closer to each other and Christ.


The purpose is to promote God’s financial principles. These principles are essential for a strong culture of stewardship and generosity that will glorify God and advance His great commission. The team will be responsible for developing a year-round emphasis on teaching the principles of biblical stewardship through sermons, Bible study lessons, training courses, enlisting people to share testimonies, etc.

Student Ministry

Assists the Student Pastor on nurturing the spiritual growth and development of middle and high school students. They help lead Wednesday night youth services, small group meetings, retreats, and social activities, aimed at providing biblical teaching, fostering community, and equipping students to live out their faith in their everyday lives. This team also often engages in outreach efforts to connect with youth in the broader community and support them in their spiritual journey.


The SCOOP is the way we communicate to our church. This team will assist capturing photos and short videos on Sunday mornings and at church events. It will also help promote our social media presence. They will also help with other communication needs as they arise.


Taking the offering is an important aspect of worship each Sunday and we need people to commit to this ministry. We’re also looking for these ushers to serve inside the room as a worship host to connect members and guests in the area where you regularly sit. You can do this by introducing yourself to new people and make them feel welcomed. Plus, you can assist those coming into worship who may need help finding a seat. We want our worship services to be warm, friendly and JOYFUL!

Women's Ministry

The Women’s Ministry Team will provide leadership and implementation of ministry to women of all ages within our church and community. This team will be involved in planning spiritual growth opportunities as well as times of fellowship and community for the women of our church.

Young Adults

The Young Adult Ministry Team is dedicated to fostering community among young adults in our church while helping them grow in their faith. We strive to provide meaningful opportunities for spiritual growth, fellowship, and service, designed to meet the needs and interests of individuals in this life stage. Our mission is to empower young adults to deepen their relationship with Christ, develop lasting friendships, while discovering and owning their role in God's mission, both within our church family, community, and beyond.
